The third season of NBC’s Heroes has been nominated for the 61th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards. Heroes: Villains’ two-hour premiere episode, “The Second Coming/The Butterfly Effect,” has earned the show a nomination for Outstanding Special Visual Effects For A Series. Heroes will be competing in this category with shows like Battlestar Galactica, J.J Abram’s freshman hit Fringe, CBS’s Ghost Whisperer and Syfy’s Sanctuary. In the category of Outstanding Art Direction For A Single-Camera Series, Heroes was nominated for its achievements in Episode 20: “Cold Snap” -which also marked the return of writer Bryan Fuller to the show.- Ironically, in this category, Heroes will go face to face with Fuller’s own Pushing Daisies, among others like, Fox’s Bones, critically acclaimed Mad Men, vampire hit show True Blood, and Showtime’s The Tudors.
