Twitter, the popular social networking site, has among its members, people from the entertainment industry. Part of the Heroes cast and crew use Twitter to connect and interact with avid fans around the world. However, its misuse has caused trouble and created lines between Heroes fans.
Foz McDermott, known in the twitterverse as @TheMightyFoz , is an assistant to the executive producers of Heroes and the talent coordinator of show. He has penned a few graphic novels and is a co-producer of the BBC’s Heroes: Unmasked.
The site SpoilerTV and other affiliated sites (DarkUFO, theODI) posted on May 31st a picture of what appears to be the first episode’s script. SpoilerTV examined the picture and found a few details and spoilers about the first episode of Volume 5: Redemption. They cited TheMightyFoz as the source of the information. Later in the day, SpoilerTV updated his blog and added a similar picture and credited @Wendilynnmakeup (Heroes’ make up artist).
However, on Monday June 1st, Foz McDermott’s denied these claims and informed to his followers on Twitter that he was going to leave the social networking site for the immense trouble it caused him. He repeatedly twitted message to have the information taken down and his name removed.
Several other sites that reposted the information (9th Wonders, IMDB, The ODI and others) deleted the offending material as soon as they had contact with @TheMightyFoz. However, SpoilerTV kept the picture and credited Foz McDermott’s twitter account as the source of the picture. Naturally, Foz McDermott was very offended and exchanged strong words with @SpoilerTV via Twitter.
Foz McDermott twitted that his account was hacked and NBC IT was investigating how the information was leaked. As a response, SpoilerTV updated his site with information from Tweleted (a service that helps you retrieve deleted twits) and the photo’s metadata proving the picture was taken with a Blackberry 8330 on May 29th, 2009 at 5:52pm. The issue remains unsolved and neither of the parties involved is ready to concede.

Foz claims he didnt post the pic, but evidence would suggest otherwise. For starters, I saw it on hiw twitter account, but lets go deeper. Here- http://twitpic.com/photos/themightyfoz you can see photos Foz posted. There are two shots from his desk and of it, and you can see that not only do the objects on the desks match up, but the script in question is right there on the desk and the dates the pic in question and these desk shots were posted are the same. The titles to the pictures also seem to go in a kind of order- “I cant believe you guys care about this…lol office finished moving in… ” “and the FOZ desk POV. (last time my feet will be up for season 4…lol)” “And this is what kept us in meetings all day…401…should be fun”
On top of that, in an earlier pic he even says he has a blackberry, and that is what he posts pics from.
Dude’s trying to save his ass.
I have verified all the information from SpoilerTV. However, we do not want to point fingers. Damage has been done to both sides and I’m sorry for them. I am sure NBC will figure this out sooner or later.

Yeah, he posted the picture. I can understand that he is trying to save himself, but I would assume that everybody at his job knows already. It is clearly his desk, it was clearly posted by him. He obviously was not *trying* to leak information, because objects had been arranged on the script so as to hide any details. It is easy to underestimate the power of fandom, though, their ability to speculate and decipher blurry pictures. If he got into trouble at work because of this, I feel sorry for him. I don’t blame him for this. It could have happened to anybody, and frankly – worse spoilers have been leaked by others. (But maybe this is why Adrian Pasdar’s Youtube account had been dormant for so long?)
What I do blame him for is the immature way he handled this issue. He didn’t just “exchange strong words with SpoilerTV” – he accused the webmaster of lying, hacking and counterfeiting. He accused him of *criminal acts*, and he gave his followers instructions to flood SpoilerTV with requests to take the post down.
He insulted him on his twitter, and in his fury even called innocent bystanders who were offering him help “scum” and “filth”. And as far as I could see, he didn’t apologize to anybody he mistakenly insulted, but remained aggressive even towards people on his side.
The last thing Heroes needs is a crew member who calls the fans “filth”, for crying out loud. He’s done himself no favour with this reaction.
The worst part is, that that picture is still accessible on twitpic.
Ah… Forgot this: I think too, that it was his picture… that he wanted to tease the fans… but didn’t want to spoil information.
When I saw the picture first I didn’t even think about getting the information from the page under the script.
It is sad, that such a small mistake could have cost him his job. How long is he working there? Is his work really that bad, that something like that is forgivable?
The best information i have found exactly here. Keep going Thank you
Where did you take from such kind of information? Can you give me the source?
